GIANTS NOTES:
An inspiration to many, Herzlich won the Rudy Award and the ACC's Brian Piccolo Award in 2010 after overcoming Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that forced him to miss the entire 2009 season…Earned numerous honors for his courage and outreach, including the Disney Spirit Award, an honorary Lott Trophy and the ACC Commissioner's Cup.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
As a rookie in 2011, played in 11 regular-season games with 2 starts…Was inactive for final 5 games of the regular season and all 4 postseason games with an ankle injury suffered at New Orleans (11/28)…Started vs. Philadelphia (11/20) and at New Orleans…Finished with 6 tackles (4 solo) on defense and 6 tackles (4 solo) on special teams.
Made NFL debut at Washington (9/11)…Saw his 1st career action on defense when he started vs. the Eagles and had 4 tackles (2 solo)…Recorded 2 solo tackles and a special teams tackle before suffering injury at New Orleans.

COLLEGE:
First Team All-America and ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, when he started all 13 games at Boston College and finished with 65 tackles and 4 interceptions…Was a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker…Played in all 13 games as a freshman in 2006.

OFF-THE-FIELD ACTIVITY:
Signed autographs for fans at the Giants Draft Day party at MetLife Stadium.
Joined teammates to serve a meal at Eva’s Village in Paterson, N.J. for the clients of the shelter.
Attended the Giants Rookie Halloween Party at Hackensack University Medical Center, the rookies dressed in costume and visited the pediatric cancer unit.
Attended the Jay Fund’s Annual Champions for Children’s Gala in New York City AND The Jay Fund’s annual dinner and golf tournament in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

PERSONAL:
Earned Associated Press Class AAAA All-State 1st-team honors as senior linebacker at Conestoga (Pa.) High School…Became the 1st player in school history to win the team MVP award 3 times…Registered a team-high 153 tackles (48 solo) in 2005...Also lined up at fullback in 2003 and 2004…Led the Pioneers to back-to-back Central League titles…Starred as an attackman on Conestoga's lacrosse team…Son of Sandown and Barbara Herzlich…Born Sept. 1, 1987.
