- Kennard was slated to start at defensive end in 2012, but he tore a chest muscle just prior to the season and had surgery, which sidelined him for all of 2012 and allowed him to redshirt.

2011 SEASON:
- Played in 12 games with 5 starts (Utah, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon) at defensive end as a junior in 2011…After starting at middle linebacker in 2010, he was moved back to defensive end, his original position, following 2011 spring drills…Finished season with 29 tackles (14 solo), including 4 for losses, 2 sacks (1 which resulted in a safety)…Missed 2011 spring practice while recuperating from a 2010 hip injury. He had 5 tackles (with a sack) vs. Stanford, 4 tackles vs. Minnesota and Arizona and 3 tackles vs. Syracuse and Arizona State. His sack against Washington resulted in a safety.

2010 SEASON:
- Played in all 13 games, including starts in the first 8 games at middle linebacker as a sophomore in 2010…Had a career-high 72 tackles (29 solo), including 7 for losses, 2 sacks, 1 interception and 1 deflection…Recorded 2 tackles with a sack at Hawaii, 7 tackles vs. Virginia, 4 tackles at Minnesota and a game-high 8 tackles vs. Washington State…Kennard had 10 tackles, including 1 for a loss, vs. Washington, 7 tackles vs. Stanford and 6 tackles and a deflection vs. California. Registered a game-high 13 tackles (1.5 for losses) vs. Oregon, 4 tackles vs. Arizona State and 8 tackles, including a sack, vs. Oregon State…Posted 3 tackles and an interception to set up a field goal vs. Notre Dame.

2009 SEASON:
- As a freshman in 2009, Kennard played in 13 games with 1 start…Began the season as a backup defensive end, but by midseason was seeing much action in pass rush situations (starting there at Arizona State)…Was moved to strongside linebacker for USC's final 4 games and started those contests…Finished season with 34 tackles (18 solo), including 2 for losses, plus 3 deflections, 1 fumble recovery and 1 forced fumble…Had 5 tackles, including 1.5 for losses, vs. San Jose State, 1 tackle at Ohio State and 3 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery vs. Washington State…Added 1 tackle at Notre Dame and 2 tackles at Oregon and Arizona State…Started at strongside linebacker and had 4 tackles vs. Stanford, 6 tackles and a deflection vs. UCLA, 8 tackles vs. Arizona and 2 tackles and a deflection vs. Boston College.

HIGH SCHOOL:
- As a senior defensive end at Desert Vista High in Phoenix, Kennard played in only 3 early games in 2008 before tearing knee ligaments, which sidelined him the rest of the season…As a junior in 2007, he made Rivals.com Junior All-America first team after finishing with 111 tackles and 24 sacks. Desert Vista played in the 2007 Arizona state 5-A championship game…In his 2006 sophomore season, he was selected All-Region after finishing with 81 tackles and 7 sacks.

PERSONAL:
- Kennard received his bachelor's degree in communication at USC in the spring of 2012 and is working on a master's degree in communication management…Selected to the 2010 and 2011 Pac-12 All-Academic 2nd team…Kennard and 15 of his USC teammates spent 5 days in Haiti in the spring of 2012 building homes and assisting those in need…Selected as 1 of USC's representatives at the 2011 APPLE (Athletic Prevention Programming and Leadership Education) Conference in Austin, Tex., designed to promote student-athlete health and wellness…His father, Derek, was an All-America offensive lineman at Nevada (lettering from 1981 to 1983) who then played 2 years in the USFL (1984-85 with the Los Angeles Express) and 11 seasons in the NFL (1986-90 with the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals, 1991-93 with the New Orleans Saints and 1994-96 with the Dallas Cowboys), including on the 1995 Cowboys' team that won the Super Bowl. His brother, Derek Jr., was a 4-year (2000-03) football letterman at Nevada.
