Today’s edition of The Mailbag on Giants.com:
I assume one of the reasons the Giants cut Michael Boley is because they think they have possible replacements in (Jacquian) Williams and (Spencer) Paysinger. Do you think either of those players is ready to be a fulltime starter?

We could well learn the answer to that question this summer. Both players have played well at times in the limited opportunities they received in their first two seasons. Williams might have supplanted Boley earlier had he not missed six games with a knee injury. He has the speed and athleticism to be a good weakside linebacker. Paysinger had nine more special teams than anyone else on the team. Their chance to actually win the starting job will be affected by free agents or high draft choices the Giants bring in. But Williams and Paysinger should both be in the job competition.
