First of all, the Giants didn’t “let go” of Umenyiora. He will become a free agent on March 12. Umenyiora has long wanted to see what his value would be on the open market and now he and everyone else are going to find out. Secondly, I very much would like to keep Justin Tuck. Yes, he only had 4.0 sacks in 2012. He will be first to tell you he did not play as well as he had hoped. But he has been an outstanding player – against both the run and pass - for a long time, a two-time Pro Bowler and a team leader. You do not discard those players easily or lightly. I’m one of many who believe Tuck will have a big season in 2013.
