Speed, concentration, and a tight spiral from Curtis Painter contributed to Talley making the top play of the day in Monday’s practice at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. During the team portion of practice, Talley split two defensive backs and hauled in an over-the-shoulder catch at the goal line for a long touchdown.

>> FIVE THINGS WE LEARNED AT PRACTICE

WR Rueben Randle
Randle and quarterback Eli Manning have connected on some smooth plays in practice this summer, and the two did so again on Monday, including a nice hookup during 7-on-7 drills. But those are the plays that haven’t translated to preseason games so far this year. “I think it’s just a matter of… we’re doing good things in practice,” Manning said today. “We’ve just got to… it seems like there are still mistakes and some things we’ve got to correct and practice as well. But the things we are doing well, we have to make sure those continue to carry over to the game.”

>> OFFENSE KNOWS IT NEEDS WORK, BUT NOT PANICKING

WR Corey Washington
Washington completes the trio of standout wide receivers in Monday’s practice. And why shouldn’t he? The preseason hero, who is coming off his third consecutive game-winning touchdown on Saturday, ran with the first team for parts of practice and made a pair of nice catches, including a leaping grab from Painter down the left sideline. Washington is backing up his clutch play with consistency.
