*The Giants broke their two-game losing streak and improved to 7-4. They lead the NFC East by two games over Dallas and Washington, both 5-6, and visit the Redskins next Monday night in FedEx Field.

*The 28-point margin of victory was the Giants’ second-largest of the season; they won by 29 points (36-7) at Carolina on September 20. It was their largest victory margin in MetLife Stadium. They had last enjoyed such a lopsided home triumph on Oct. 11, 2009, when they beat Oakland, 44-7, in Giants Stadium.

*The Giants won their fifth consecutive game following a regular-season bye. They are 9-15 overall in post-bye games.

*This was the 12th regular-season meeting since 1990 of the last two Super Bowl winners. The most recent champion has won 10 of the 12 games, including the last eight.

*The Giants held the Packers scoreless in the second half, the second time they’ve done that this season. They did not allow a point in the last two quarters in a 26-3 victory at San Francisco on October 14.

*The Giants did not have a turnover for the third time this season (also at Carolina and San Francisco). They won those three games by a combined 100-22. The Giants have won their last 13 games (10 regular season and three postseason) in which the offense did not commit a turnover.

*The Giants led at the end of the first quarter, 17-7, their highest-scoring opening period since Nov. 7, 2010, when they scored 21 first-quarter points on their way to a 41-7 victory in Seattle.

*The Giants led at the end of the first half, 31-10, their highest point total after two quarters since the game in Seattle two years ago, when they led, 35-0. Including postseason games, it was just the fourth time since 1985 they scored more than 30 points in a first half.

*The 21-point halftime lead was the Giants’ largest since they led Dallas, 21-0, in the 2011 season finale (Jan. 2, 2012).

*Each team scored a touchdown on its first offensive possession. The Giants scored on Andre Brown’s two-yard run just 2:22 into the game. It was the second time this season the Giants reached the end zone on their first series; at Carolina, Eli Manning threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Martellus Bennett. Under Tom Coughlin, the Giants are 21-10 in games in which they score a first-possession touchdown.

*The Packers answered just 1:56 later when Aaron Rodgers threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson. It was the second game in a row and the third time this season the Giants allowed a first-series touchdown. Cincinnati did in on Nov. 11 on Andy Dalton’s 56-yard pass to A.J. Green and Cleveland scored early on Oct. 7 on Trent Richardson’s 15-yard run. The Giants are 16-15 under Coughlin when the opposing team scores a touchdown on its opening possession.

*The 61-yard pass was the second-longest allowed by the Giants this season; on Oct. 7, Cleveland’s Brandon Weeden threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Josh Gordon.

*This was the first time both the Giants and their opponents scored touchdowns on their first drives since Oct. 9, 2011, when Seattle scored on Tarvaris Jackson’s 11-yard pass to Ben Obomanu and the Giants countered with Manning’s 12-yard pass to Jake Ballard. Prior to that Seattle game, it hadn’t happened since Nov. 25, 2007 vs. Minnesota.

*Tom Coughlin tied former Pittsburgh coach Bill Cowher on two career coaching lists. The victory was Coughlin’s 149th in the regular season, tying him with Cowher for 17th on the all-time list. Giants Hall of Famer Steve Owen is 16th with 151 victories. Coughlin also has 12 postseason triumphs. His 161 total victories tie him with Cowher in 16th place. Former Minnesota coach Bud Grant is 15th with 168 victories.

*Eli Manning threw three touchdown passes to become the Giants’ career leader with an even 200. Former record-holder Phil Simms threw 199 touchdown passes from 1979-93. Manning is the 32nd player in NFL history to throw at least 200 touchdown passes.

*Manning’s streak without a touchdown pass ended after a career-high 106 passes when he threw a 16-yard score to rookie Rueben Randle with 2:38 remaining in the first quarter. Manning had not thrown a touchdown pass since the fourth-quarter 77-yarder to Victor Cruz to beat the Washington Redskins on Oct. 21.

*In the Giants’ five-game post-bye winning streak, Manning has completed 112 of 171 passes (65.5 percent) for 1,539 yards, 13 touchdowns and two interceptions.

*Randle’s touchdown was the first of his career.

*Manning set up the Randle touchdown with a 13-yard scramble, his longest run since he had a 16-yard gain at Philadelphia on Nov. 21, 2010.

*Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and caught two passes for 61 yards. His 59-yard reception in the first quarter was a career-long for Bradshaw. His previous long catch was a 55-yarder vs. Oakland on Oct. 11, 2009. His longest reception this year had been a 20-yarder at Philadelphia on September 30.

*The rushing touchdown was the 31st of Bradshaw’s career. He is two behind Ron Johnson, who is eighth on the Giants’ career list.

*David Wilson had 72 kickoff return yards, increasing his season total to 1,011, a Giants rookie record. The former record of 987 was set by Clarence Childs in 1964. The Giants’ single-season record of 1,291 yards was set by Domenik Hixon in 2009.

*Lawrence Tynes kicked five extra points and a 43-yard field goal. He has now kicked 204 extra points as a Giant, including a team-record 188 in a row.

*The Giants sacked Aaron Rodgers five times – two by Mathias Kiwanuka and one apiece by Osi Umenyiora, Chase Blackburn and Chris Canty. Umenyiora also forced a fumble on his sack. Kiwanuka had just one sack entering the game.

*The Giants suffered a significant injury when running back Andre Brown fractured his fibula. Brown leads the Giants with eight rushing touchdowns and is second on the team with 385 yards. He led the Giants Sunday night with 13 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown.

“It takes a lot off of the win, to be honest with you,” Coughlin said of Brown’s injury.

*Right tackle David Diehl suffered a burner in the first half and did not return. He was replaced by Sean Locklear.

*Kenny Phillips returned to action after missing six games with a knee injury. The Giants opened the game in their three-safety package with Antrel Rolle, Stevie Brown and Phillips – but Phillips later re-injured his knee, though he said it wasn’t serious.

“I’m not worried at all,” Phillips said. “I probably could have continued to play, but with the score how it was, I figured it wouldn’t make any sense to go out there and try to hurt it some more.”

*Coughlin threw his first challenge flag of the season – and the result was a reversed call that gave the Giants a touchdown. With 3:01 remaining in the third quarter. Manning threw down the middle to Hakeem Nicks, who was ruled down just short of the goal line. Coughlin challenged, hoping to get it reversed to a touchdown. After review, referee Terry McAulay did just that and Nicks had a 13-yard score. Coughlin is 34-39 with the Giants and 44-48 in his career o nreplay challenges.

*The Giants improved to 18-22-1 on Sunday night, including 9-11 at home.

*The Giants broke a four-game home losing streak to Green Bay (2011, 2007, 2001, 1998). They had last beaten the Packers at home on Nov. 8, 1992.

*The Giants’ inactive players were wide receiver Domenik Hixon (ankle), linebacker Jacquian Williams (knee), defensive tackle Marvin Austin, defensive end Adewale Ojomo, tight end Adrien Robinson and offensive linemen James Brewer and Selvish Capers.
